AboutUs

We are committed to providing a fun and safe learning environment for riders of all ages and skills, giving them the tools to reach their horsemanship goals. We focus on a strong foundation of safety for all riders, both beginner and experienced, desiring to expand their skills both in the saddle and on the ground. Students learn not only all-around horsemanship, but also learn how to build strong long lasting and trusting relationships with their equine partner. These deep and beautiful relationships create lifelong memories.

Beginner to Advanced Lessons

Grace Riding Academy welcomes students of all skill levels and aspirations

LessonDesign

All lessons start from the ground up, building upon each rider’s individual skill level. No matter your experience level, I am happy to work with you where you are comfortable. If you have your own horse, feel free to schedule a lesson at either your place or mine. I like to start all riders with beginner lessons and build upon a strong foundation. Speed of progression in lessons is dependent upon the individual’s ability to advance, and we only move forward with techniques, speed, and technical maneuvers when the rider is ready.

All individual lessons consist of a similar format and are either 30 or 50 minutes long. Lessons start with grooming, brushing, picking out the feet, tacking up, saddling, working with the horse on the ground, riding on and off the lung line in the round pen and or the arena, un-saddling, brushing and caring for the horse before returning them to their paddock. This is the basic format of lessons, but horses are individual animals and sometimes they have hard days. With that said there is always something to learn when working with your horse even if you don’t get to ride. There are countless things to learn from your horse if they are having a hard day, it is the perfect opportunity to build up your horsemanship skills on the ground. Being an accomplished horse person is so much more than just riding, it is about being a well rounded individual. Here at Grace Riding Academy LLC, my goal is to provide an environment for you to learn about the horse from the ground up in a safe and encouraging environment.

Beginner Lessons

For riders of all ages! Lessons will focus on learning the basics on the ground and in the saddle. Starting with a solid foundation helps avoid issues down the road, it's always faster to do something right the first time rather than having to retrain old habits.

What will the rider learn?

  • Lessons include horsemanship on the ground and in the saddle, starting at each rider's level whether that be from the very beginning on the lead line, walking, trotting, while working on the horse and riders connection, balance, strength, and stretching.
  • Lessons can be either in an English or Western saddle.
  • Lesson horses are available no additional fee.

Intermediate Lessons
